Introduction
In 1937, a man by the name of Walt Disney was about to make history. Releasing the very first fully animated feature film ever made; Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. A movie which completely changed the animation industry forever, and which influences can still be felt in animation today. The movie was a massive success, and to this day is considered one of the greatest animated features of all time, purely due to its timeless animation and its significance in history. And since Disney just couldn’t stop themselves from remaking every single one of their properties these days, a Snow White remake was bound to happen eventually. Much to the utter dismay of the audience. You know, I remember people being genuinely surprised that Disney even bothered remaking this one. When it only made sense for them to remake what is arguably the most important movie that Disney ever made. Sure, they had Mary Poppins in 1964, which I would consider Disney’s magnum opus. Being the biggest passion project that Walt has ever made since Fantasia in 1940. But Snow White just had so much historic significance to it, that it was kind of bound to get remade at some point. Especially given that Disney just doesn’t know how or when to stop making them. So then, the movie does exist now, and has been for a while now. Since then, a fair bit of time has passed, and I wanted to give the movie another viewing to see if this re-imagining of Snow White did the original story justice. So was it?
